Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez, born Rosa Maria Perez on September 6, 1964 is an American actress and choreographer. Her first big break came with her role as Tina in the movie Do the Right Thing (1989), which was followed by White Men Can't Jump (1992). Perez was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role in Fearless (1993). Her film roles as a star since include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado (2000), Pineapple Express (2008) and Birds of Prey (2020).Perez earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for In Living Color (1990-1994) and another Emmy nomination for her role in the film The Flight Attendant (2020-present). She has also appeared in stage shows on Broadway such as The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Fish in the Dark. She also hosted The View's 18th season on ABC's talk show The View. She was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, Queens. By 1999 her mother was living in poverty in the Woodside Houses, when she died of AIDS-related complications
